This high-quality, self-contained ferrocerium fire-starting tool is easier to use than tools more than twice the size. At the end of the day, this little tool can be collapsed and returned to the key chain. Titanium (6AL4V specifically) has one of the best strength to weight ratios of any metal. It offers the strength of (common) steel while being 45% lighter. It is a common substance found in almost all living things. What makes Titanium expensive is the effort to refine and machine it into a useable product. The benefit of a Titanium product is not only its strength but the fact that it doesn't need to be protected and beautified with coatings like Aluminum does.
