The is a very light-weight stainless steel bar with a diamond pad. Both ends are curled back to create a loop that takes advantage of the Molle ,System employed on military gear. While transporting the sharpener the diamond pad is faced against the fabric. Once reversed to expose the diamond pad and placed on a stable surface you can maintain an existing sharp edge while in the field without the use of oil or water.
